Second Day of Deer Season, 2005.
Iron County, 2006. 24 x 36 in, acrylic on canvas. I had worked the
opener with CO Grant Emery in Gogebic County and it started to rain
that afternoon, then turned to snow. By time I started back to Crystal
Falls, 110 miles away, it took me five hours to drive in a whiteout as
24 inches of snow plopped on the landscape. No vehicles on the road
that night -- just deer crossing in front of me!
