Wind and Age.
Crawford County, 2006. 30 x 20 inches, acrylic on half-inch foam board.
White and red cedar trees have shallow roots and age, winter and wind
often topple them, exposing giant root balls. The downed trees leaning
down into the river are call sweepers and provide cover for trout.
