The Hurricane River (except in runoff) dumps meekly and unobtrusively into Lake Superior at the eastern end of the Pictured Rocks. I visited late May 2005 and found steelhead still in the shallow mouth. There are brook trout up stream, but you'd better be most excellent with your fly rod roll-casting technique.
