They sit in a staggered line
Of an unknown origin
(Never mind any meaning we can parse)
And lift en masse in loud panic
Circling and squawking, their order
Jumbleated, later aligning
With the grace of powered feathers,
Jumping around until their unseen
Hierarchy is restored,
Or another eagle visits
And then the drill begins anew.
